Alex is a full-time landscape photographer currently based in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. He's been shooting for seven years. He most often finds himself photographing the incredible geology of the American desert southwest, the humbling scale of alpine mountain environments, or the strange and lush trees and foliage of the forest. His primary goal is to create images of nature that evoke emotion in him, and he hopes that translates to the viewer. He has a great appreciation for both dramatic and quiet scenes.

In 2016, Alex won a couple of major awards: USA Landscape Photographer of the Year, where his image "Volcanic Autumn" placed first overall; and The Epson International Pano Awards, where his images "Hibernation II" and "Funnel Factory" placed first and second overall. Both were international competitions, with thousands of entries from dozens of countries.

Alex's images have appeared in a number of publications, including USA Today, Landscape Photography Magazine, DPReview, Scholastic, N-Photo Magazine, LeNs Magazine, Digital Photo Magazine, Digital Camera World, Digital Photographer Magazine, Photographer's Companion, and Amateur Photographer UK.
