For outstanding achievement or sustained contribution in photographic education, Paul has received by “The Royal Photographic Society” the honor title “The Education Award”: first in the World to be honoured with this award.
Delmar was head of Press Photography and Photo-Journalism at Norton College Sheffield, which ran the country’s only news photography courses accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).
He was voted the country’s top press photography/photo journalism course leader by The Picture Editors’ Guild - and, on different occasions, received perpetual trophies from ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair and PM-to-be Gordon Brown at the Guildhall in London.
His course at Norton College, was voted the country’s top press photography training centre by the UK Picture Editors Guild. He was also awarded the Fuji Film Award of the Decade for service to photographic education.
He has extensive experience as a news photographer, picture editor, and lecturer.
Paul also carried out international news assignments including war coverage in Uganda, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and the Middle East. He worked in a consultancy capacity for the National Press Photographers’ Association (USA) specialising in ethics, practices and conduct.
