"Sergio Pitamitz is a professional photographer and journalist with dual French and Italian citizenship. He is a contributing photographer to the National Geographic Image Collection, based in Washington D.C., USA. He specializes in nature, wildlife and conservation. He has traveled on assignment to more than 100 countries and in all 7 continents, from the Americas to Australia, from the Arctic to Antarctica, from Africa to Asia and the Middle East. Sergio contributes to National Geographic Magazine Italy and has also been published in Nat Geo foreign editions, websites and books. His images and stories have appeared in hundreds of publications, including BBC Wildlife, Terre Sauvage, Africa Geographic, The New York Times, Time, Newsweek, Figaro Magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, and LatitudesLife. He works on assignment for conservation NGOs and foundations. In 2016 he won the ""Best of Photojournalism"" in the Nature and Environment category of the NPPA - National Press Photographers Association, USA. He is Swarovski Optik Nature Ambassador and a Nikon Master Photographer."
