Description: Nineteen-month-old Hiba Nisar from the Kapran Village in Shopian, Kashmir. On November 25, 2018, while in her mother’s arms at home, she was hit in her right eye by pellets shot from an Indian officer's pellet gun during an encounter between militants and security forces. Doctors at SMHS hospital in Srinagar are concerned she may have permanent vision loss in her right eye. Pellet-guns were introduced in Kashmir by the Indian police in 2010. In recent years, more than 6,000 people have lost their eyesight completely or partially after being struck by the pellets.

In the world’s largest refugee camp everyday life scenes emerge in the hilly, clayey landscape south-east of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. Right next to their home on a hilltop in the Balukhali camp a family has opened a small store. Ayoub Khan, 5, eats his dinner while his 10-year-old sister Sufira Begum keeps him company.

Description: Luis Theis is a young artist who was arrested on May 18th, 2016 during a protest against Nicolas Maduro’s government. He was accused of assaulting a female officer of the National Police who was trying to block the demonstrators in Caracas. After his capture, the Venezuelan artistic community reacted and turned “viral” the images of his violent arrest. Following a week of intense legal struggle Theis was freed. Like other rebels before him, Theis became an icon for Venezuelan youth.
