Crocs in Banco Chinchorro live in a mangrove swamp where they are ambush hunters in the murky waters. They have learned over the years that they can get some easy morsels to eat when the local fishermen clean their fish and discard the remains into the water. This occurs outside the swamp in the clear waters of the Caribbean. Once in clear water, outside the swamp, they are not in predatory mode and may be more easily photographed.
