Noémi Napsugár Melegh (b.1990) is a Hungarian photojournalist and documentary photographer, currently a staff photographer at telex.hu, one of Hungary’s leading independent news outlets. Her work focuses on long-form documentary stories and personal narratives that connect intimate experiences with wider social issues, often engaging with marginalized communities and themes of grief, loss, and resilience.
Her work has received international and national recognition, including First Prize in the Daily Life (Picture Story) category at Pictures of the Year International (POYi), the Hemző Károly Prize (2023) - one of Hungary’s most important awards for young photojournalists - multiple Hungarian Press Photo awards, and selection as one of Futures’ emerging photographers (2024).
She has participated in the VII Academy Documentary Seminars, the Canon Student Development Programme, the Magnum Workshop, and the Eddie Adams Workshop. Her work has been exhibited at the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, Telep Gallery, and in various group exhibitions in Hungary and internationally. Since 2025 she has been a member of Pictorial Collective.
