Saher Alghorra (b.1997) is a photojournalist based in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.
Alghorra graduated from Palestine University in Zahraa City, Gaza, with a degree in Media and Public Relations. Photography has been his passion since 2017, when his father gifted him his first camera.
He began working as a freelance photojournalist in 2021, collaborating with international agencies and institutions. His work has been published in international outlets. Since February 2025, he has been regularly collaborating with the New York Times.
In 2023, Alghorra received the 2023 Lucie Impact International Award and was a finalist at the International Photo of the year Award (POY).
In 2024, he was awarded the Prix Bayeux for War Correspondents (Young Reporters category), an honourable mention at UNICEF Photo of the Year and at Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Award. He also won the Communication Arts Award of Excellence, the PX3 Paris Photojournalism Prize, and the AP Photo Contest for News Photography (Single Category).
In 2025, he won the Prix Bayeux for War Correspondents (Photography category), the ICRC Humanitarian Visa, and the International Freelance Photojournalism Award (IFPA). He also joined the Joop Swart Masterclass program.
In 2026, he received the Picture of the Year POY83 – National/International News Picture Story, 1rst Place.
To this day, Alghorra actively covers events in the Gaza Strip.
