Country: Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Pinu Rahman, Ambassador of the World Photography Olympiad, is a self-taught freelance photographer from Dhaka, originally from Pirojpur, Bangladesh. A multiple international award-winning artist with over 80 accolades, he is known for finding the extraordinary in the ordinary through powerful visual storytelling rooted in everyday life.
In 2025, Rahman was named the Sony World Photography Awards National Winner for Bangladesh, further strengthening his position as one of the country’s leading contemporary photographers on the international stage. He is also the recipient of the “Best of Nation” Award at the World Photographic Cup 2019 and a Golden Award from the World Photography Olympiad 2024.
Pinu’s passion for photography is deeply connected to travel, human observation, and cultural documentation. A graduate of the University of Dhaka, he is professionally an Assistant General Manager at Rupali Bank PLC, one of Bangladesh’s leading state-owned banks. Balancing his banking career with his creative pursuit, he believes his profession and passion coexist as two parallel worlds — one sharpening his discipline, the other nurturing his soul.
He continues to explore diverse themes, including aerial photography, in which he has developed particular expertise. His works have been published in leading international media outlets including The Guardian, The Times, Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera, Le Figaro Magazine (France), and La Croix (France).
Beyond his personal practice, Rahman has served as a jury member for international competitions including the International Awards Associate (USA), ExceLens Awards (UAE), Decagon Gallery (New York), Wiki Loves Monuments 2025 (Global Wikimedia Community), The 12th International Photo Festival Frame 24 (Serbia), and the BTTF Photo Competition (Bangladesh). His works have been exhibited across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Currently serving as an Ambassador for the World Photography Olympiad, Rahman represents Bangladesh globally, advocating documentary storytelling and cultural preservation. His work stands as a visual tribute to Bangladesh — its people, landscapes, and enduring beauty — connecting local narratives with international audiences through images that inform, inspire, and endure.
