Hans Gasser, born in 1950, lives and works in Innsbruck (Austria) as photographer. Since early years he has been interested in photography and its manifold techniques. Due to various journeys, of which some led him to the most remote desert areas on earth, Hans Gasser nearly exclusively depicts landscapes nowadays; and because panoramic photography seems to be the most suitable format for this genre Hans Gasser chooses it for most of his pictures. Hereby, however, the panoramic view is not only expressed through a super wide angle, but the photographer is also of the opinion that this flexible format is the most appropriate way to correlate with our visual field. Therefore he makes use of the wide range of object lenses from wide angle to telephoto lens very consciously in order to create the unique perspective of his panoramic landscapes. The photographs were already shown in various exhibitions and at multimedia shows both inland and abroad. Since 2001 Hans Gasser has been cooperating with the publishing company EDITIONPANORAMA (Mannheim, Germany) which enables him to publish his extraordinary panoramic landscape photographs in large-size calendars (120 x 50 cm) and artful books of pictures. Therefore apart from the calendars EDITIONPANORAMA published books of pictures about the topics “Sahara”, “Yemen”, “Norway” as well as “Prague” since 2004. In autumn 2010 Hans Gasser presented his large-size book of pictures “ NAMIBIA PANORAMA ” which contains many fantastic double sided panoramic photographs.
