I have been a professional sports photographer since 1986 when I joined The Observer newspaper on leaving college. I then worked as a staff photographer at The Independent, The Sunday Correspondent and freelanced for The Guardian. In 1977. I joined Empics Sports Photo Agency and in 1999 joined Getty Images. I have been lucky to have covered many sports events, 5 summer Olympics, 6 football World Cups, World Athletics Championships and bizarre events such as Ice Golf in Greenland. My favourite sports are football and cricket and have specialised in photographing athletics during the past 21 years at Getty Images
