I have started my journey in photography with a simple point and shoot camera with the sole intention to capture family moments almost 16 years back. But life has its own plans while you are busy with your own. After the accidental death of my wife’s in 2009, the loneliness and responsibilities towards my 3 year old Son as a single parent completely consumed me and the love for photography lingered on. After years, one day while flipping through old family albums, I realised my calling and decided to become a full time photographer and finally I resigned from my 17 years of long academic and administrative job in a reputed University. This was the year 2014 and completely a year of transformation of my life journey. With time my life and previous profession as an educator and administrator in a University helped me finding the maturity to visualize and develop ideas quickly and implement them in photography professionally.
I received various awards and recognized by various International and National organizations of repute such as National Geographic, Sony World, Sony India, Camarena Academy (Best photographer of the year 2016), 121 etc. Got awarded “Indian Photo of the Year 2018” by Sony India. In “SONY World Photography Award 2017” was a finalist and exhibited at the prestigious Somerset House, London for 15 days. My articles “Marbles of Faith” and “Yamuna Ghat, Delhi” got published in Sept 2017 and Jan 2018 in prestigious IPA Magazine and appreciated nationally. In a project of Government of Delhi, I have contributed with many photographs for their Annual calendar thrice in the year 2018, 19 and 2020. In 2019 Eyeshot International Magazine recognized my work and published my work on its website/ magazine. I have many other Interviews and publications in National media.
