Stefano Mirabella

Country: Italy 🇮🇹

Stefano Mirabella was born in 1973 in Rome, where he lives. In 2003 he took his first steps into the world of photography attending courses in Rome's best schools. Shortly after, he started a personal photographic pathway which saw him engaging in social reportage and travelling abroad to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Burma, India, Syria and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. These experiences resulted in a series of personal exhibitions and various publications. His passion for photography led him to his teaching career: he is constantly holding photography seminars and workshops on behalf of Associations and Schools.

Stefano started practicing Street Photography in 2012, immediately joining SPontanea Italian Street Photography Collective. He sees Street Photography as an opportunity to be among people and to rediscover his own city. He loves the kind of photography that is poised between the willingness to represent reality and the desire to transcend it.

He tries to share his deep passion for Street Photography through teaching. He teaches at Officine Fotografiche. Winner of the Leica Talent 2014, Stefano is a Leica Ambassador and a Leica Instructor from 2015 to 2018.
