Steve was born and grew up in England, worked in Switzerland and then moved to the United States. He currently lives in Chicago. Steve was trained as a scientist but also pursued stock photography and, over a 7 year period, sold 60,000 photographs. In 2014 Steve became interested in more conceptual types of photography. Since then he has exhibited work in galleries across the U.S. and in Europe, has written a number of articles for photography magazines, and has had photographs and features in several books. In 2014 Steve joined the Perspective Fine Art Photography Gallery in Evanston, Illinois, where he is currently represented. Steve has had three featured shows at the gallery with a fourth show scheduled for June 2019. In 2017 he was elected an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, with his work featured in the society’s journal. Examples of recent recognition include a portfolio of his photographs published in the Silvershotz 2017 Folio Annual book, a gold medal for his work awarded at the 2018 San Francisco Bay International Photo Show, and recognition as one of two awarded photographers for the Flowing City book project, Trieste, 2018.
