Anirban was born in Royal City Cooch Behar, India. By profession he is a High School Teacher in Mathematics. From the beginning of his photography he is very much affectionate with Mother Nature. The sounds of egrets-kingfishers-bee eaters, colours of sunbirds, life struggles of various reptiles, green paddy fields and broad green canopy of forest always inspired him. Photography is in his blood which he has got hereditary from his Grandfather, who was an Engineer-Painter-Photographer. He started photography in early 2010. His basic interest is to photograph big mammals, birds and especially tiny macro worlds. In his free time he gets engaged in protection and conservation of various natural habitats. Present day he is associated with the conservation of work of Black Soft-shell Turtles in local ponds.
He has started photography with a simple point and shoot KODAK (film) camera in the year 2000. But after some years, he bought a Semi-DSLR Prosummer Camera from Canon. With the passage of time, he has upgraded his camera to Canon DSLR, then to Nikon DSLR D750 and Nikon D500. Now he is using mirrorless Nikon Z6 III. His photographic efficiency developed gradually. He participated in a Salon photography contest through Federation of Indian Photography (FIP) from 2009 to 2014. He has been awarded in many International and National Salon contests that were recognized by FIAP, PSA, GPU, FIP etc. He was conferred with the distinction of Fellow of Federation of Indian Photography ((FFIP) in the year 2014. From 2016 he has started to participate in different Professional International Photography contest.
