After he graduated from high school Andreas Trampe first started off as photo trainee and then was working for seven years as a photojournalist for daily newspapers and several magazines (amongst others Bunte and Bild am Sonntag). From 1991 to 1996 he was head of the picture desk at Bild am Sonntag, in 1996 he started working at stern Magazine. He was first assigned deputy of the picture desk, from 2000 to 2019 he was the Director of Photography of Stern. Since February 2019 he works as a senior picture editor for the magazine.
