In my work, two things matter: being in the right place at the right time, and knowing how to wait for the precise moment. Sometimes it takes only an hour; other times, it demands days, even months of research and presence in the field. Because behind every photograph, there is not just an image, but an expedition, an adventure, and often the sacrifices necessary to make it possible.
For me, photography is not a simple snapshot. It is the fruit of immersion, of setting oneself aside to let nature reclaim its full place. Under the intense heat of Australia, I learn to conserve every movement, every drop of water. In the biting cold of the Alps, I remain motionless for days, waiting for the fleeting appearance of an animal. The greater part of my time unfolds at the heart of the elements, fully absorbed by them.
I always work with the unpredictable: animal behavior, changing light, the constraints of the environment. Some of my images are born of long, repeated observation; others of a fleeting instant, seized in a few seconds of reactivity.
Through my series, I seek to reveal a world where the human disappears, a world where animals reclaim their place and reign fully. My intention is not to master nature, but to show it in its position of strength, to reveal its grandeur when it asserts itself. Every animal I photograph fascinates me with its capacity to master and adapt to the elements it faces daily. Through their behavior is revealed the full richness of ethology, an understanding of the living world that should also be a source of learning for humankind. Some of my series evolve with shifts in atmosphere and light, while others are anchored in chromatic coherence. All, however, explore the richness of situations, between contemplative stillness and bursts of action.
For me, photography is above all a story of immersion, patience, and presence. It bears witness to an experience lived in the wild, where I am no longer merely a spectator, but a participant, in search of truth.
