Ivan Romano is a freelance and contributor / stringer photojournalist for the Getty Images Agency. After having studied archeology, he devoted himself full time to documentary and journalistic photography, starting collaborations with editorial offices and photojournalistic agencies in Campania. In 2014 he joined Getty Images for which he created commercial works, entertainment and sports services, mainly dealing with reports and news on society, politics and news.
Particularly sensitive to social issues, such as struggles for human rights, right to work, right to housing, migratory phenomena and the environment, he has produced reports and works in Italy and abroad, both on behalf of the Getty Images Agency and as a freelancer .
In 2014 he launched an articulated project on the traditions of southern Italy entitled: "Radici. Terra, Santi Madonne e Carneā which aims to document religious rites and rural traditions at the time of globalization. Since 2015 he has participated in awareness-raising projects and conferences on the topics covered in his works with particular attention to the environment and migration.
It boasts numerous publications with the main international and Italian newspapers including: Life, Time, New York Times, Washington Post, National Geographic, TheGuardian, BBC, CNN, Newsweek, LāEspresso, Internazionale, Sette, Left and many others.
