Country: India 🇮🇳
I am Mousam Ray (50), born, brought up and residing in Jalpaiguri, a small town in the north of the Indian state of West Bengal, with my mother, wife and daughter. I picked up photography and particularly about birds and their myriad moods and actions from 2009 after a chance click of a female Koel devouring a papaya on a friend's camera. Over the years, the hobby has grown wider to cover nature and wildlife photography though birds still remain my most loved subject. Many habitats around Jalpaiguri and several migratory species have provided ample opportunity to further the love of photography though I have also visited many wildlife sanctuaries in India like Kaziranga, Manas, Tadoba and Bandhavgarh. My dream is to visit Kenya some day, which is possibly the dreamland of all wildlife photographers. Till date, I have won several awards including the Honourable Mention Award in last year's (2019) and Joint Second award 2020 in Sanctuary Asia Photography Competition. I am also an employee of Life Insurance Corporation of India by profession.
