Lys Arango is a documentary photographer. For more than a decade, her work has focused on food insecurity, food sovereignty and the structural factors shaping hunger, including climate change, conflict and inequality. Through long-term projects developed across different regions, she explores how global crises are experienced at the local level, particularly within rural communities.
Her work has been published by international media including El PaÃs, Bloomberg, CNN, Le Monde, De Volkskrant, 5W, and others. Arango’s work has been exhibited internationally and has received several awards and recognitions, as the POY and the Prix Terre Solidaire. She is a National Geographic Explorer and a member of VU’ Agency.
