Brais Lorenzo is a photojournalist born in Ourense, Galicia (1986). He studied photography and Geography and History. Since 2010 he regularly collaborates with the EFE agency and with the newspaper Faro de Vigo. He has taken photographs for other media such as El País, El Mundo, La Vanguardia, ABC, Público, La Marea, Nós Diario, Luzes Magazine, The Guardian and agencies such as France-Presse or The Associated Press. He has also worked with NGOs such as Greenpeace and currently collaborates with the Red Cross communication department in Ourense.
Some of his images have been included in various photographic exhibitions, such as the Art & Photo Exhibition (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), for the NGO Sara Canizzaro Child Minders Association; Absolute reality, at the Geraldes da Silva Gallery (Porto, Portugal); Rande: pé ou refuxio do Capitán Nemo, at the La Nacional cultural center in Manhattan (New York, USA); Building a New World, at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts (Turin, Italy); Visual Anthropology of a Confined Society, in the Ethno-toxic Museum, (Ribadavia, Spain); Galicia in Vilo, at the Afundación Headquarters (A Coruña, Spain) or At the Scenes of the Pandemic, at the National Museum of Contemporary History (Seoul, South Korea).
Awarded with POYi Daily Life singles 2021 and 2nd prize in the individual category daily life POY Latam 2021, News Photo Awards 2021 (Grand Prize) and 3rd place in category contemporary issues NPPA - Best of Photojournalism 2020.
