Christopher Occhicone is a photojournalist based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Since 2014, Occhicone has covered the war in Ukraine. He has been focusing on the same group of medics since the full invasio began in 2022. In addition, Occhicone is continuing his long-term project on the Soviet internat (orphanage) system in Ukraine.
Christopher Occhicone has contributed to Stern, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, The New York Times, Bloomberg, and The Economist. Occhicone was a participant of the Eddie Adams Workshop and Missouri Workshop.
Occhicone is a graduate of the International Center of Photography in New York. He studied history as an undergraduate at Fordham University and did graduate work in public health at Harvard University and conflict resolution at Seton Hall.
