Matt is a picture producer and broadcast journalist for BBC News Online & Mobile, working in the London-based newsroom. He helps oversee photography appearing on the site's front pages, he creates image galleries for news stories, and also carries out picture research across the UK and International BBC News sites.
Previously, he was the picture editor of BuzzFeed UK, where he was responsible for sourcing the latest viral visual stories. Before that, Matt was the deputy picture editor and culture writer at HuffPost UK, working on the news picture desk and producing written articles about arts and culture.
He has judged international photography competitions, including Sony World Photography Awards, Lens Culture’s Street Photography Award and the Rebecca Vassie Memorial Award.
Matt is passionate about the use of photography to tell challenging and inspiring stories related to environmental and climate change issues.
