Alexandra Lier is a German artist, best known for her photography. Lier's photographs are dramatic and cinematic. Her work is based on long-term observation, while people are the center: Strong women, characters with passion, underground communities, especially in the field of car culture and other vehicles. Alexandra received her art, film and photography degree at the Frankfurt Academy of Visual Arts. Upon graduation, Lier worked as a award winning creative for major advertising agencies. After winning more than 40 advertising awards, she pursued her interest in arts, combining her interest in underground subculture and storytelling. By being close to and often immersed in her subject matter, she manages to captivate the viewer and become part of the story. Over the last decade, she built a substantial reputation in fine art photography & film. Her works are "Speedseekers" (Fine Art Book by Gingko Press, 2009), "The World´s Fastest Place" (shortfilm and Fine Art Book by Kehrer Verlag, 2014), "The Worlds Fastest" (feature-length documentary 2018) and "Mutant Vehicles" (Fine Art Book 2.0 by Speedseekers Productions, 2021), “Chasing 200” (documentary 2021).
Her work was featured in many online and print magazines and blogs and was shown in galleries, exhibitions and art fairs like Scope Basel and Bloom Cologne.
