Country: Spain 🇪🇸
Alvaro was born in 1986, Spain and for as long as he can remember he has always had a fascination with nature in all of its different forms. At the age of five years old his Grandfather gifted him a mask, snorkel and set of fins, since he has always been close to the water. He started experimenting with photography at eight years old, using his father's old camera. At 13 his father gave him his first SLR camera, a Nikon F70. From that moment, photography has been the number one passion in his life.
Alvaro has over 16 years of diving experience, with 12 of those years working as a professional. He has worked as a diving instructor, commercial diver and boat captain. As well as working as a full time underwater photographer for the past 8 years in Thailand, Philippines, Polynesia, Indonesia, Maldives and Mexico
He has had his work published in various scientific journals and has collaborated with government environmental organizations. With some of his work being recognized in the GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Underwater Photographer of the Year, Aspherico photo contest... to name a few.
In recent years his passion has become more focused on deep diving rebreather photography (up to 110m), and also cave photography in Mexico.
