Samantha Nott is the picture editor on BBC History Magazine, the biggest-selling history magazine in the UK, where she has worked for the past 18 years. Samantha is responsible for picture researching images that appear in the 13 print and digital issues each year and also contributes to the images that appear in the magazine’s website historyextra.com. With access to an incredible variety of archive libraries, Samantha will regularly view hundreds of both popular and rarely seen images every month to select the perfect mix to engage the audience. One of her favorite jobs on the magazine is commissioning photographers who take the beautiful images appearing on the interview features. Working with a variety of talented photographers is a highlight of the job.
Previously Samantha worked on the picture desk of the Western Daily Press and as a partner in her sister’s lifestyle photography business.
