Torie Hilley

Country: United States 🇺🇸

Born and raised in California, I’m originally a behavioral ecologist and conservationist. While earning a BS in Animal Science and a Master’s degree in Animal Behavior, I have lived and worked extensively in the most remote areas throughout Southern Africa, including countries like Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. My primary interest concentrated on African lions and the African painted dog, one of the world’s most endangered species.

I am an award-winning photographer and professional artist with images published in National Geographic, The Nature Conservancy, Remembering African Wild Dogs, BBC Wildlife, and more. Several of my paintings, photography, and Limited-Edition Fine Art Prints are in private collections and galleries around the world.

I always have my camera with me in the field and love sharing my distinctive photography with others. I recently combined my lifelong love of painting with my passion for photography to increase our understanding of the beauty and fragility of the wildlife I admire so much. I respect the innate power of the visual arts to spread awareness of my cause and have now dedicated my photography and artwork to wildlife conservation.

I am a passionate person who is trying to spread awareness of threatened and endangered species through my work. You become an advocate for wildlife when you purchase a piece of my art because a portion of my sales is also donated to various smaller conservation organizations because I believe in supporting the “little guys” on the ground protecting wildlife.
