An engineer living in Umbria, he prefers to shoot his reportages in black and white. He has been part of the Leica Photographic Group in which he had the opportunity to meet the Masters of Italian photography for years.
With RAI journalist, Luca Cardinalini, he co-authored a photo book entitled “STTL La terra ti sia lieve” (Ed. Derive Approdi, Rome, 2006); and together with Luigi Loretoni he published a photo book called “Miserere” in 2008, “Gubbio, I Ceri” in 2011 and “Kovilj” in 2014 (all published by L’Arte Grafica). Also in 2014, he published “Boxing Notes” (Bam Edizioni) a reportage on the world of boxing which made him win the award “Rencontres D’Arles - Reponses Photo 2017”, the first prize at IPIC - Imago Photo International Contest 2018 for portrait and the first prize at Key West Photography Festival 2019. The boxer’s portrait is on permanent display at the National Boxing Museum and is part of the Italian Boxing Federation’s art collection.
He dedicated himself to music photography for some years, co-authored the book “I colori del Jazz” (Federico Motta Editore, 2010) and published “Jazz Notes” in 2019 (BAM Stampa Fine Art by Antonio Manta). He has just won the “Jazz World Photo 2021” for international music photography. In 2020, he published “Vita e Morte - Rapsodia Messicana” a journey into Mexican traditions and culture, where sacred and profane, as well as life and death touch, until they coincide. This book won the second prize at the Italian Street Photo Festival in Rome, the third prize at the Budapest International Photo Awards 2020, the second prize at IPA - International Photography Awards 2021, the Bound Images Award Photofestival Milano 2021 and his reportage is one of the 5 winners of “CLOSER 2020 - Dentro il reportage” in Bologna.
For street photography, he was an award winner or finalist in major international competitions such as Miami, San Francisco, Bangkok, Paris, Minneapolis, Key West, New York, Rome, Trieste, Siena, etc.
For (abstract) fine arts, he received multiple awards in addition to winning the London International Creative Competition in 2018.
He exhibited his works in more than 60 personal and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He was a winner or finalist in more than 100 contests in the last four years.
