Thomas Nicolon is a French photojournalist and filmmaker. As a National Geographic explorer, he covers wildlife conservation around the world. His work has been published in National Geographic, Le Monde, GEO, Reuters, Mongabay, and many other outlets.
Thomas lived in the Democratic Republic of Congo for five years, where he worked as a correspondent for news channel France 24. During his time in Kinshasa, he gradually shifted the focus of his work to his lifelong passion: our natural world. He started shooting stories in remote protected areas of central Africa for several outlets, and initiated collaborations with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), WWF, and others. He then moved to Peru for two years, documenting conservation in the Amazon basin.
When he's not on assignment in some remote corner of the globe, Thomas spends his time showing his work in festivals and giving interviews, advocating for the protection of the Congo basin and other tropical rainforests.
Thomas is a proud member of The Photo Society and the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP).
