Olga Jaramillo is a Colombian-born visual storyteller. Trained as an economist, she later transitioned to photography, bringing a deep understanding of Latin American socioeconomic realities to her visual practice.
Her work centers on long-form, intimate storytelling and explores the subtle, often unseen connections between identity, culture, and migration through photography, short documentary films, and writing. Her recent work focuses on the intergenerational impact of migration on the families of migrant mothers from Central America.
Her multimedia documentary project Dos Mundos, begun in 2019, was awarded the Women Photojournalists of Washington’s Butterfly Grant in 2024.
She lives in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area with her family.
