Born in 1983. Graduate of Photography from the Łódź Film School (PWSFTViT) and the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at Warsaw University. In 2016, he received a scholarship from the National Cultural Center.
Marek prefers working on long-term documentary projects, including "Blast," which focuses on the war in Ukraine (since 2015), "Not a Black Swan," which examines the Covid-19 epidemic in Poland (2020-2022), and "Citymorphosis," a project exploring metropolises in Poland, China, Russia, and Germany (2013-2017). In 2017, he published the photo book "Citymorphosis," and his works are now part of the collection at the National Institute of Architecture and Urbanism.
He has received various awards, including Grand Press Photo in 2022 and 2023, BZ WBK Press Foto in 2014 and 2016, and he won the Leica Street Photo competition in 2016 and 2020. Additionally, he was a finalist in the 2022 The Krzysztof Miller Prize.
Marek has exhibited his works at numerous prestigious events, such as the Month of Photography in Los Angeles, The Boutographies - Rencontres Photographiques in Montpellier, the Photon Festival in Valencia, and the Opole Festival of Photography.
