Chee Gin Tan is a Malaysia-based photographer, cinematographer, and Getty Images/iStock Regional Ambassador. Since 2007, he has photographed in more than 50 countries, creating work defined by cinematic atmosphere, quiet emotional depth, and authentic storytelling. Guided by a sensitivity to light, place, and fleeting human presence, his images transform everyday moments into evocative visual narratives.
With over 19 years of experience, he has developed a distinctive visual language shaped by travel, human connection, and the experience of documenting more than 1,000 weddings. His work has received international recognition, including Canon AIPP International Photographer of the Year 2013, awards from WPPI and ISPWP, and recognition as one of Asia’s Top 30 Photographers by Signature Wedding Magazine.
Alongside his photographic practice, he works with global brands, leads workshops, and mentors emerging photographers. For him, photography remains a lifelong language of light, memory, and emotion — a way of understanding both the world and himself.
