Daniel Flormann

Country: Germany 🇩🇪

Daniel Flormann is a multi-award-winning German underwater photographer. During his first diving course in 1999, he encountered a reef shark. The mix of fear and fascination for these elegant creatures quickly transformed into a deep passion for the beauty of nature and wildlife. This passion inevitably led him to underwater photography, which he began in 2007 while diving with great white sharks.

Daniel went on to become a diving instructor, publish several articles, exhibit his images, and earn a PhD in biophysics, with a strong affinity for microscopic photography. The central aim of his underwater photography is not only to showcase the unique beauty of the oceans but also to highlight the urgent need for humanity to take far greater responsibility in protecting them.
