Inspired by traditional elements of various tribes in Papua New Guinea, I wanted to create a work showing the dichotomy between the individual character and the need of community. Clay and Ash is my personal abstraction and graphic interpretation of how humans interact with their peers, following the shapes that are sometimes found in nature. I feel that this brings humans and the land together in a unique and different way.
