The master painters were and are to this day unmatched when it comes to the art of portraiture. Their ability to have a conversation with their audience through their paintings is what I also aim to capture in my works with the ultimate objective to create a sense of intimacy between you and the depicted subject. I delved into the vast collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam in search of works to use as inspiration for this series.
