Panther Slough

Panther Slough
by Mac Stone

An estimated 200 endangered Florida panthers remain in the wild, constrained to wilderness areas within the Everglades. As Florida's population booms, the habitat for these wide-ranging cats is further fragmented, imperiling the next generation of panthers. Protecting these cats and their habitat is key to preserving the wild heart of Florida. Photographed with a custom camera trap in the Everglades.
