In the police station in the border city of Maicao in Colombia, more than 60 sentenced prisoners live in a detention cell, no larger than 50 square meters. Prisons in Colombia are full; therefore, even the local police stations are used for inmates sentenced to life in prison. They are rarely let out of the cell.
