Collapse of Rana Plaza

Collapse of Rana Plaza
by Rahul Talukder

Rescuers carry a survivor pulled out from the Rana Plaza rubble after 77 hours. On 24 April 2013, an eight-story garments factory building collapsed in Savar, killing more than 1,100 workers and injuring over 2,500. Rana Plaza, which housed five garment factories, had been designed with only six stories and was intended for shops and offices only.
