Every year in spring, tens of thousands of Munk’s pygmy devil rays (Mobula munkiana) arrive in the Gulf of California to feed and reproduce. At dawn, Marie approached them carefully while freediving above waters kilometeres deep. She did not use a flash, giving the picture a mysterious aura.
